Our Mission
The Worship Committee of Yarnell Presbyterian Church works closely with the Pastor oversees the multi-faceted weekly Worship Service. The function of the Worship Committee is to maintain a meaningful yet fresh service with minimum distractions or problems. The monthly meetings, every 4th Sunday of the month right after church in the Ancillary room at church, compassionately critiques the past month’s services alert for situations, concerns and evaluating specials events during the services etc.
The Worship Committee is an open fluid committee meaning that while certain committee chairs are invited to participate on a regular basis, any and all individuals from our congregation are welcome to participate in the monthly discussions, conversations and participate in any decisions made.
What We Do
Worship Committee Chair handles the scheduling of Assisting Elders, Communion and Communion Servers, Guest Speakers when required, and generally the overall fluidity of each and every Worship Service.
Worship Committee plans/implements for all special Sundays such as Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday Services, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, July 4th, Advent presentations, Christmas Eve services and Christmas etc.
For Example: For one of our Mothers’ Days programs we asked for younger pictures of Mothers from those who wished to participate. We then posted the pictures of those Mothers up on the chancel rail for all to see and guess whose Mother belonged to which member of our congregation. This was so successful; we did the same for Father’s Day!
Another time we acknowledged Mothers of the Bible with posters and stories of the many wonderful mothers who set a great example loving and following our Lord Christ Jesus as well as fulfilling important roles in the foundation of the Church. As always, each person attending church that Sunday will receive a carnation in honor of their Mother or someone was like a Mother to them. Obviously we will do the same program for Father’s Day, honoring Fathers of the Bible.
Worship Committee also works closely with Mission Chair, Music Director, other Committee Chairs as needed, as well as Pastor any way they may request.

One very important and invaluable individual who, although unable to attend Worship Committee meetings, has tremendous input, advice and overall touch on the Worship Service is Elder Carolyn Wiles who advises, writes, suggests, implements, researches, schedules Lectionary Readers weekly and just normally keeps the Worship committee running smoothly when problems, situations etc present themselves.
Worship Services at Yarnell Presbyterian Church are truly a community effort by many dedicated, compassionate and enthusiastic followers of Christ.
